Drive up to Auli by road and walk the short trail along the ski slope to the lake. The Joshimath–Auli ropeway has been closed since January 2023 after land subsidence in Joshimath, so check the current status of the ropeway and the slope chairlift with our travel desk before you go.
December to March: Ideal for skiing, snowy vistas, and watching the frozen lake basin against white slopes.

There is no separate entry fee for the lake itself. Charges apply only for ski equipment, lessons or lifts, where these are operating.
